Test details
The laboratory used a controlled tape-stripping model on the forearm to evaluate barrier care. The lotion was applied once at approximately 2 mg/cm². Water loss and instrument-measured redness were assessed 2 hours later, relative to the post-stripping, pre-application baseline and compared with untreated skin.
Average water loss decreased by 54.20% in the treated area and 36.98% in the untreated area. Instrument-measured average redness decreased by 24.77% and 15.28%, respectively. Both between-area comparisons of change were statistically significant (p < 0.001). These percentages describe changes in the measured endpoints from baseline.
